Summary of Work: The DVOP provides assistance to veterans and disabled veterans. Inform veterans and employers of services provided by Job Service. Conduct assessment of clients needs and desires. Determine the services needed and make referral support services. Develop employment plans and provide case management as needed. Provide career/vocational guidance and counseling. Maintain records and document services provided. Assist veterans to overcome any barriers to employment. Promote and assist veteran job seekers with job search, provide job development and job referrals of qualified veterans to the business customers. Provide labor market information to veterans and employers. Provide and facilitate a full range of employment and training services, promote career opportunities for veterans. Refer opportunities for the benefit of veterans. Develop employer relations contacts to include federal contractors. Make contact with community leaders, employers, labor unions, training programs, and veteran’s organizations to promote employment and training opportunities to veterans. Participate in job fairs to promote service to veterans. Refer veterans to training, supportive services, and education opportunities.
